Abstract

The present research examined the influence of mood on funniness ratings of cartoons. This was conducted twice during a two week period. It was found both among and within individuals that there was a positive relationship between positive affect and funniness. These findings are consistent with the notion that mood efects judgement and indicates that there is a relationship between positive affect and evaluation humor.
