Abstract

Addiction is a disease-one that is widely misunderstood. Growing up, I witnessed my mother struggle through alcoholism and dependency on drugs. I saw her as weak and troubled, but I could never acknowledge her sickness. The following is a collection of short stories that works together to convey a bigger message of hope. So many days were spent attempting to fix my mother. Yet, it was once I learned to love her that I truly understood the ways we change.
