Abstract
This project investigates and expands on the relationships between deaf culture and Electronic Dance Music by developing a music video whose core message is intended to strengthen the relationship between both the hearing and non‐hearing communities. The research indicates that deaf culture has been used in many genres of music for this purpose before, but never has there been a music video with a call‐to‐action that requires the audience to pursue interaction with members of the deaf community in the real world. Ildefonso fills that gap in the current landscape of digital media regarding music videos involving deaf culture. Secondarily, this project investigates the creation of musical elements by exploring how acoustic qualities of sound relate to the identity of a musician, and how understanding the origin of these sounds help the musician to portray the intended emotional messages.
