Abstract

This project examines the pay-‐what-‐you-‐can community café model pioneered in 2003 by the non-‐profit organization One World Everybody Eats and how the community café concept can be used to fight food insecurity within the community the café is located in, and applied to Muncie, Indiana. The PWYC community café is an integral part of local food systems and the fight against social injustice. Muncie, with multiple organizations working to make the city more equitable and socially just, is a community that is poised and ready to take on a PWYC community café model.
