Abstract

This paper is a description of the French school system, the way English is taught in France and the problems and inefficiency triggered by this system in French high schools. Five full lesson plans based on communicative teaching methods are provided for English teachers in France. They have designed specifically for the target audience and can used in class without interfering with the current national curriculum.
