Abstract
Abstract I have always felt a little misplaced in the honors college. I’m not a microbiologist or an architect. I’m not a mathematician or an engineer. I take photos. As a photojournalism major, there didn’t seem to be too many students like me in most of my classes. That’s why I needed this thesis to demonstrate the journalistic student body. This piece is meant to be looked at as if it were published in a magazine. I created a 12-page spread that not only tells a written story, but gives new, smaller stories through design and photography. I wanted to take the amount of information I gathered from my source and not just type it in a paper, but present it in a way that creatively tells where I have grown these past four years. I want to continue on as a freelance photojournalist who hopefully will have spreads that look just like this in real publications. My feature photo story spread will hopefully show others in my major in the honors college how they can incorporate their world into this one.
