Abstract
In an age filled with people forgetting the past, The Wretched reminds them that it can come back for revenge. This Grecian-style oral epic allows a god close with nature to reclaim himself, reform, and bring down those who opposed him. He gets to find himself again after ruthless betrayal and torture, and the world itself begins to recognize him, too; he is the world finding the pieces to see itself again. The world has tried to ignore the faults of its past, as seen in the current rise of Neo-Nazis, and The Wretched is a reminder that the past did happen, and the horrors of old still ring true. If people forget the past, and the horrors committed in it, the past will find its way back to the present.
