Designing high rise buildings with integrated public spaces at different levels must be prioritized to foster a sense of community and neighborhood. Community Z is a residential high-rise that introduces neighborhood spaces and programs at various levels to be used by its residents. Through the introduction of public parks, shopping areas, and recreation spaces at various floor levels, Community Z attempts to encourage social interactions among resident helping the potential growth of a neighborhood sense of community within a the high-rise levels. With added vertical visual connectivity across the building levels, Community Z transforms adjacent floors into neighborhoods. By scattering these public programs throughout the building, residents are encouraged to explore the building vertically. Community Z also integrates into its larger urban context through the implementation of a train transit stop within it.
