Abstract

This research project was undertaken to find the perceived adequacy of academic education among officers for duty performance in the United States Air Force. While the Air Force has provided opportunity for continuing education throughEducation Services Division at each base, there was indication that such programs might not be meeting the needs of Air Force officers. Additionally, there was indication that pre-commissioning education did not necessarily provide sufficient background for Air Force duties of many officers. This project then sought to find how academic education correlated to Air Force specialty for officers. It also was an effort to gather solid data for the continuing education programs on air bases, especially where to place emphasis for future programs.
