Abstract
The objective of this research is to show the effect nature had on the life and poetry of William Wordsworth. This project has two major divisions. The first part is a biography showing the close relationship between William Wordsworth and his natural surroundings. The second part is a study of the visual imagery used in four of his poems. The biographical data and the poems were chosen to coincide with slides that were taken in Europe specifically for this project. This project will be presented to the ninth grade English classes at Justice Junior High School in Marion, Indiana. The classes will contain both average and advanced students. The purpose is to teach ninth grade students the concept of imagery in poetry by using slides which show what the poet might have seen and then recorded in his poems.
