Abstract
Re:SPACE explores the potential of incorporating flexible architectural elements to enhance visitors' experiences in Central Park. This project proposes an approach to creating a built environment that is responsive and adaptable to meet changing user needs. The project achieve this by designing a space that can accommodate various activities and uses, while drawing visitors further into the quieter and more serene west side of the park. The work leverages the existing synergy of flexibility in Central Park and creates a unique environment that captures visitors' attention and encourages exploration. The design focuses on creating an aesthetically pleasing and welcoming space by using flexible and light finished materials, such as thermochromic fabric, which can adjust to fit individual needs. By incorporating flexible architectural elements in its design, Re:SPACE offers a new perspective on adaptive built environments that prioritize user experience. The project presents a unique opportunity to explore the potential of flexible architecture in enhancing visitors' experiences in Central Park.
