Abstract

Poetry can speak in many forms. It can express emotion, reflect, or demonstrate growth from the poet who writes these simple but profound words on the page. How can a female senior undergraduate student genuinely show what she has experienced in life, how she has felt in times of trouble, and how she has grown as an individual? By means of poetry. For myself, there is something very compelling about writing with ease, no intentional rhythm, writing her thoughts onto these pages. I write to share her words, experiences, emotions, and life. I write with the hope that her readers understand and relate. In this collection of poems, Floreciό a pesar de toda la lluvia or She blossomed despite all the rain, I delve deep into my emotions during my adolescence and undergraduate years, what I have pondered here and there, and how I have grown from life challenges. This collection contains content that may trigger some readers, as there are mentions of anxiety, depression, unwanted thoughts, divorce, loss, body image, and other sensitive subjects. Please be advised.
