Abstract
The first component of my thesis is a written account of my journey to becoming an A+ teacher. It is a story of how I have changed and grown over the years and what I have learned while studying at Ball State. It also tells of my experience during the (zrban ~emester in Indianapolis. There I was exposed to urban schools and was also able to incorporate what I had learned in my education classes into the classroom for the first time. I hope that after reading this account of my experiences at Ball State and teaching, people will have a good idea of who I am as a person and also as an educator. The second component to my thesis is my professional teaching portfolio. My portfolio consists of my autobiography, my philosophy of education and management, observations, reflections, a three-week unit plan, resume, transcripts, and two artifacts for each of the ten INTASC principles. This portfolio demonstrates my strengths as a teacher and allows people to know who I am as an educator. It is something that I can take with me to interviews to show my talents and also something that will allow me to reflect on myself as a teacher.
