Abstract

Rhetoric, the ancient art of persuasion through language, is an integral aspect of human nature; therefore, it is consequently included in human communication efforts, including websites. The rhetorical strategies generally found on the Internet are basrc fundamentals in the broad art form. In addition to these core functions, rhetoric also offers a range of theories to be included in web design as well. If such theories were included, the audience's comprehension and rate of retention would increase. The benefits of rhetoric make it a necessary skill in the education of both content creators and website developers.
