Office Buildings Post-pandemic: Dopamine

Abstract

As a society we have adapted and overcome the challenges the pandemic brought. There is a new perspective of the world and one of the major changes that have occurred is where people work. Society succumbed to working from home. So, how do we get people back into the office and what will help people stay focused on their work? After much research there are many factors that go into an office building that can enhance the productivity in the workplace and will create spaces people want to go work in. The South facing facade is mainly glass to allow sunlight to draw into the office building along with terraces wrapped around the building to bring the sun farther into the building. There are also some interior factors to consider, for example, natural interior products improve air quality while the use of natural colors stimulate the brain in a way that productivity is enhanced. Biophilia is another aspect of design that involves human overall well-being, therefore improving the work environment. When separating home and work life becomes a challenge, an office to go work in is beneficial. The building we’re proposing has the best environment for anyone to be productive in.
