Abstract

This project was created and developed by Ball State University students in the Teaching Social Studies in Secondary Schools SS 395 class taught by Sarah Drake Brown, Director of Social Studies Education and Associate Professor at Ball State University. The project includes lesson plans and learning activities designed to incorporate resources from the Cantigny First Division Oral History Project - Phase I into the classroom. The Cantigny First Division Oral History Project I, developed at Ball State University, includes freely-accessible online oral history interviews conducted by Ball State University students with veterans of the U.S. Army’s First Division who served between 1946 and 1991 and were at the time of the interviews (summer 2008) residing in Indiana, Ohio, or Kentucky. Funded by the Cantigny First Division Foundation, the Project was co-directed by Dr. David Ulbrich and Dr. Michael Wm. Doyle of Ball State’s Department of History.”
