The integrated reading and writing high school classroom : a curriculum design

Abstract

The purpose of this project was to design a classroom curriculum where the language arts would be integrated into one coherent unit. The curriculum is adaptable for grades 9-12 and presumes an audience of teachers for those grades. The design strives for practicality and, therefore, includes a booklist, activities, exercises, writing topic suggestions and methods of evaluation, all drawn from various sources. The design also contains a rationale which shows support by reviewing some of the most important related literature.
